How to Pay for AI Tools from Russia in 2026: Three Methods and a Service-by-Service Breakdown

The situation is the same for almost every foreign AI service: the site opens (or opens through a VPN), and at the payment step a Russian card is declined. There are three ways around it, and each has a price, not only in roubles. Below is the overall picture and a breakdown by service. We sell none of these methods and give no links to intermediaries: they change every couple of months; the principles do not.

Three methods

1. A foreign or virtual card

A card from a bank in another country, or a virtual card with a foreign billing link. You pay the service price without markup and get a full account with all limits. Downsides: the card must be obtained and topped up with a fee; some services also need a foreign address at sign-up; jumping between Russian and foreign addresses can get the account blocked together with the paid subscription. 2. A payment intermediary

A service that pays for the subscription with its own card while you pay it in roubles with a fee, usually 10 to 20 percent. The account stays yours. Downsides: you hand account access to strangers, and there are plenty of fly-by-night intermediaries. Check how long the service has existed and whether there are real reviews outside its own site.

3. An AI aggregator for roubles

A Russian service that connected foreign models through official APIs and sells generations for roubles, no VPN, no foreign cards. You do not get an account in the service itself, but you get the model. Downsides: the price per generation is higher than inside a subscription; new model versions arrive with a delay; not every feature is available. The upsides win for anyone with modest volume. Rule of thumb: up to a few dozen generations a month, an aggregator. Hundreds, your own card and subscription. An intermediary is the middle option when you need your own account but have no card.

1. Count how many generations a month you really need. Not clips, generations: multiply the clips by three or four.
