How to Pay for AI Tools from Russia in 2026: Three Methods and a Service-by-Service Breakdown
Almost every strong AI model is foreign, and almost none accepts Russian cards. Three ways to pay, an honest comparison by price and risk, and a service-by-service pass: where what works as of September 2026.

The situation is the same for almost every foreign AI service: the site opens (or opens through a VPN), and at the payment step a Russian card is declined. There are three ways around it, and each has a price, not only in roubles. Below is the overall picture and a breakdown by service. We sell none of these methods, and the only intermediaries we name are two marketplaces where they are actually bought: individual sellers and services change every couple of months, the principles do not.
Three methods
1. A foreign or virtual card
A card from a bank in another country, or a virtual card with a foreign billing link. You pay the service price without markup and get a full account with all limits. Downsides: the card must be obtained and topped up with a fee; some services also need a foreign address at sign-up; jumping between Russian and foreign addresses can get the account blocked together with the paid subscription. 2. A payment intermediary
A seller or service that pays for the subscription with its own card while you pay it in roubles with a markup, usually 10 to 20 percent. The account stays yours. To be honest about where people really buy this: on the digital goods marketplaces GGSel and Plati.market. Private sellers there activate a subscription on your account for anything from a month to a year, and the marketplace keeps the seller rating and handles disputes.
Standalone payment services exist too. There are many of them and they keep changing, we have not tested them and so do not name any. The downsides are the same for every intermediary: you hand account access to strangers, renewal through a seller will not happen by itself, and there are plenty of fly-by-night operators. On a marketplace, look at the seller rating, the number of sales and the warranty period. With a standalone service, look at how long it has existed and whether there are real reviews outside its own site. And never buy access to somebody else's account instead of a subscription on your own: those get blocked.
3. An AI aggregator for roubles
A service that connected foreign models through official APIs and sells generations for roubles, no VPN, no foreign cards. We use SYNTX ourselves: one subscription instead of several separate ones, payment with a Russian Mir card, about forty models. You do not get an account in the original service, but you get the model. Downsides: the price per generation is higher than inside a subscription; new model versions arrive with a delay; not every feature is available. The upsides win for anyone with modest volume. Rule of thumb: up to a few dozen generations a month, an aggregator. Hundreds, your own card and subscription. How to choose in a minute
- Count how many generations a month you really need. Not clips, generations: multiply the clips by three or four.
- Under a few dozen: an aggregator for roubles, and that is all. No cards, no VPN.
- Hundreds: your own subscription. Then you need a foreign address for sign-up and work, a foreign or virtual card, and a dedicated account that does not jump between countries.
- You need your own account but have no card and do not want one: an intermediary. Check its history, pay for a month, change the password after.
Checklist before paying an intermediary
- The service is over a year old, with reviews on third-party sites, not only its own. On a marketplace, check the seller rating, the number of sales and the warranty period.
- Support that answers before payment. If they are silent before, they will be silent after.
- The fee is stated up front in percent or roubles, not "we will clarify later".
- Pay for a month, not a year. Models change fast; intermediaries faster.
- After payment: change the password, enable two-factor, check no foreign email is attached to the account.

Kling

HeyGen
The site opens, Russian cards fail. A card or an intermediary for your own account; aggregators also carry HeyGen but with a reduced feature set, and an avatar from your own recording is usually only in your own account. HeyGen guide.
Higgsfield
An aggregator itself, but a foreign one: a dollar subscription that does not accept Russian cards. A foreign card or an intermediary. Midjourney
Opens, no free tier, cards fail. A card or an intermediary for your own account; nearly every Russian aggregator has Midjourney. Note it is tied to Discord and its own site and is not officially sold via API, so aggregators usually offer a "wrapper" with limitations. Midjourney guide.
Runway
The site opens, the checkout does not: the gateway declines cards by country of issue, and Mir is not accepted outside a handful of countries at all. The free plan is one-off, 125 credits at sign-up with no refill, so without paying you never get past the first tries. Annual pricing is 12 dollars a month for Standard, 28 for Pro and 76 for Max. ChatGPT and other OpenAI services
The most closed case: OpenAI blocks Russian addresses; a foreign address is needed at sign-up, at payment and during work. OpenAI no longer has a video model: Sora was shut down on 26 April 2026 and its API ends on 24 September, so there is nothing to pay for under "Sora access" today. Details in what happened to Sora.
Google: Gemini, Nano Banana, Veo

What not to do
- Do not buy "accounts with a subscription" second-hand: they get blocked and the money is not returned.
- Do not switch between Russian and foreign addresses in one session with OpenAI and Google services.
- Do not pay an intermediary with no history and no reviews outside its site.
- Do not buy an annual subscription to a model that may be replaced by another in six months. The market changes every few months.

Can I still pay for AI services from Russia in 2026?
Yes, as of September 2026 there are three working routes: a foreign or virtual card, a payment intermediary, and an aggregator that sells foreign models for roubles. How much does it cost in roubles?
Take the service price in dollars and multiply it by the exchange rate on the day you pay. Through an intermediary, add the usual markup of 10 to 20 percent: Runway Standard at 12 dollars a month on annual billing becomes 12 plus 10 to 20 percent, converted at that day's rate. With your own foreign card there is no markup, but you pay a fee to top the card up. An aggregator sells generations at its own prices, higher per generation than inside a subscription. Which AI services can be paid with a Russian card?
Foreign ones, practically none. A Russian card pays for Russian services: Alice AI, Kandinsky, Shedevrum and the aggregators that sell foreign models for roubles.
Is paying through an intermediary safe?
As safe as the intermediary. You are handing over account access; pick sellers with a history and a rating on a marketplace such as GGSel or Plati.market, pay monthly rather than yearly, and change the password after payment.
Which is cheaper: a subscription or an aggregator?
Per generation, the subscription. Counting the card, VPN, fees and block risk, at low volume the aggregator. The line is a few dozen generations a month.
Can I avoid paying at all?

So you do not pay for waste
However you pay, more than half of generations go to the bin, three quarters for a beginner. The biggest saving is not in the payment method but in landing on the first or second attempt.
